As the Director of Shank You I have sat down and discussed with Adria and Adrianne what they need to do as a travel coach. Looking over the last 11 years I think that we needed to have some travel coaches that played and were recruited to play in college. We have had many girls in 16's and 17's go to different clubs for more recognition. We have also had many girls go on to play in college and after the 1st year have decided that it just wasn't worth it. In the last few years we have had teams qualify for Nationals. Our club has fulfilled our goal of getting more recognition.
As the Director, I take the blame for not asking the coaches to have good hard drills and to work with them to better their skill level. I believe that 16's and 17's need to understand what it is like to play and practice in college by coaches that have been through it. We are lucky this year to have that both in 16's and 17's. With the quality of players that we have in this area we have the potential to have the best travel teams that Shank You has ever had.
As a coach, I believe that it is important for girls that have the will, desire and skills to go on to the next level to participate on a travel team. In order for this to happen the girls need to understand that giving 110% and working hard at all times is what is going to bring them to become better players and be successful.

Coaching Philosophy:
I believe that
every girl involved in travel volleyball has a chance to play in college.
My goal as a coach is to help each girl reach their full volleyball potential.
Hard work and a competitive spirit is needed in players and coaches and I have
seen that at Shank You. Travel club volleyball is about experience - the
experience gained from playing club is priceless if players are dedicated and
work hard at every practice and in every game. With Adrianne coaching the
16's travel team we will practice together some times so that we can work with
individuals and positions.
