WHAT IS A TRAVEL TEAM?


A travel team is comprised of players that show a high level of both skills development and commitment. These teams travel many weekends from the beginning of January and as late as the end of June. Most of the tournaments entered are weekend long commitments. Some tournaments may be scheduled during spring break and holidays. This team is for those who hold volleyball as a high priority. Keep in mind there are some occasions where the player may have to miss a few days of school. Each player has the opportunity to tryout for their qualified age division.

 

CONFLICTS WITH A SCHOOL SPORT?

 

Players wishing to play on a travel team should check their sport schedules and determine if traveling is possible. RESOLVING CONFLICTS IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE PLAYER AND HER PARENTS.

 

HOW MUCH DOES SHANK YOU COST?


 TRYOUT FEE:


A Non-refundable fee of $40.00 is due the first day of tryouts. This is not deducted from your club fee.

 

INITIAL CLUB FEES:


This fee takes care of USAV dues, insurance, uniforms, league dues, equipment, administrative costs, and coaches' travel expenses.  THIS FEE IS DUE ON OR BEFORE DECEMBER 12TH, 2008    

ALL FEES ARE NON-REFUNDABLE.  Payment options are available, but these arrangements must be made with the club director prior to the December deadline.

 

                                          TRAVEL TEAM

18 and Under   MINIMUM OF 330 DOLLARS FEE,     PLUS THE SELLING OF 5 COOKIE DOUGHS FOR OUR FUND RAISER.  IF YOU CHOOSE NOT TO SELL THEN IT WOULD BE 370 DOLLARS.  FOR EVERY COOKIE DOUGH OVER THE 5 THAT ARE REQUIRED THERE WILL BE A 2 DOLLAR REDUCTION ON YOUR CLUB FEE.

NON-LEAGUE TOURNAMENT FEE

 

A $40 per tournament fee is required for tournaments not covered under the Northern Power League. Adria Phillips is in charge of all the travel teams and coaches.  They will decide if they want to try for Nationals which is in Miami this year or go to the JDVA tournament.  If they go to the JDVA tournament then all qualifiers will have a fee of $100.  If they are trying for Nationals then  all Qualifiers and Nationals there will be a $65 fee. The Travel Coach will set up a meeting with the players and parents and discuss which tournaments they will go to.  There is a required  $100 check for each tournament that they agree to attend. The check will be given to the player or parent when they get there.  All players on a Travel Team will be required to be at the Mideast Qualifier and Regionals, if the team qualifies for Nationals that also will be required.  They must be there for the entire tournament.
